I have an neat exterior socket which feeds the TV at the front of my van. I use a very small home brew aerial (modified yagi) on a lightweight 3 section pole held onto the van with rubber suckers. A £9.99 battery powered portable signal amplifier from Maplin boosts any low power signals. The amp from Maplin is really very good and ensures an acceptable picture almost anywhere ( for the Digital fans amongst us it works on digital too). There are a couple of types of covered exterior sockets available from any caravan accessory dealer they both look quite neat when installed on the side of the van...cost around £10.

The things you mention are probably what i am looking for and i want the finish to be as neat and tidy as poss, will go see if perthshire caravans have anything like that in stock

Found this picture of an external socket the same as mine, the cover flips up to allow the cable from the aerial to be pluged in( normal coax plug into normal coax socket):
