After the annoyance of my TomTom falling off the windscreen, the next problem is the power supply . I've had a problem before, but today it just wouldn't charge it. It's the one that plugs into the lighter socket, the green light was on, but the TomTom was constantly showing the low battery warning. I eventually plugged my laptop into the lighter socket and connected the USB cable to the Sat Nav, and it worked. At the end of my journey I tested the fuse in the power supply, and it's OK. I also tried plugging the power supply into the van 12v sockets through an adapter, so it looks like it's the power supply that's at fault. Of course the TomTom is now fully charged so I can't test it any more, and I can't put my voltmeter on the USB plug to see if there's any output.
There's a Halfords about 10 miles away. Should I try to get it replaced, or is there a better option? I've got a 5 volt power supply I could use, but it doesn't have a USB plug option. Just to be really difficult, buying something by mail order is also a problem, as I'm moving on every couple of days.

It wasn't working again today, so I phoned the nearest Halfords and they said they will replace the power supply. I'm not risking getting the lot replaced as I may get new problems . I hope I can find the receipt .
Why do so many shops have flashy maps on their store locators? If you are travelling through an area with slow mobile internet access it doesn't make it easy to find them. Anyway, there aren't any local Poundlands, but if they sell lighter to USB power supplies I expect other people do too. It's just a matter of finding them.
Now, how do I get from the CC site near Richmond to Halfords in Darlington without my TomTom, as the battery is flat .

I had charging problems develop with my 910 about 3 weeks ago. The company I bought it from went bust, so I called TomTom who gave me a Returns number & sent me a cool pre-paid Royal Mail package with a foldy-box to send it. Took 10 days, came back repaired with a new board plus most of the accessories replaced.
Impressed with the service, and glad to get my best buddy back....
Dougie.
