I'm new here so be gentle. Can anyone help with an insurance company that will insure a vehicle for self drive hire. We are a new company and will be renting out VW classic vans.

Welcome to the site, no chance of rough treatment here, try:

If they won't insure it then no-one will!

No need for gentleness when its a good question.

I think I may probably ring one of the smaller hire companies and tap their brains, so long as you wernt on their door step I think they would probably offer advice. You have spent money and you want to make sure your investments are safe when they are away "working" and also does the "classic" sitation make any difference

Hi there,

You should speak to a company called Compucar - they have a system which you install on your pc and only pay for when your vehicles are out on hire - it connects to a central server to check the details of your hirer and prints out the documents. Tradex will probably quote a prohibitive amount if you have a small fleet - you can email me at tim_day@tiscali.co.uk if you want more info.

Cheers

Tim
