Thought I'd share this, sorry if it's been covered before...
...I really own this tip to my mum... as whatever the problem, it can always be sorted with bicarb!
I was on the beach and didn't realise until I walked back & got in the shower that I'd got got a big tar splodge on my foot. Needless to say after showering, the shower try was covered with tar marks... never fear...
...I had a tub of sodium bicarbonate and a small bottle of white vinegar.... mix a bit of both together on shower floor (allow to foam) and scrub with kitchen scourer... 3 mins later viola... sparkling clean all tar removed.
Thanks mum!

Another tar remover is Brasso, my daughter got it off a telegraph pole on a pure white cardigan, as a last resort and a tip from an ancient WI book I poured the Brasso on.
Boy was it a scarey mess, but it got every bit off, with not a mark of the tar left, I have used brasso for other things too when nothing else but the bin would do, amazing how many stains it has removed.

another tip
if you get ink/biro on anything, spray with hairspray and rinse, repeat till gone. My Daughter had pen marks on a glass computer desk, she tried everything and it wouldn't come out until she tried the hairspray,

I often get tar on the paint work of my car and vans because the roads in Ireland are Tar & chip and it hot weather it can melt.
To remove the tar spay a little white spirit on it , leave the wipe away. It won't damage the plastic tray, however some thinners will.
