Not sure if this has been covered before, but Voda are offering pay as you go internet access for £1 per day up to 15MB.

This might be useful to those who use the T-mobile £1 per day access when Tmobile has no reception(large parts of Lake District etc). 15 mb should be enought to get email & surf MHF forums a bit? Over 15 mb is £2 per mb so watch your usage Confused

I already had the P&G sim for my phone so rigged it for my laptop datacard(I am posting from near Aberdeen..still in sunny Scotland Smile It works well so far!

Thanks Chris. I use T Mobile, and as you say it could make a handy alternative where reception is poor/none existant.

When 3 start offering internet on pay as you go I'd like to try them also.

I use a Sony K610i (bought from and locked to T Mobile) but the only unlocking services I can find on the Net are rather expensive at present.

Excuse me for being a bit thick but do you get charged £1 a day even when you are not using it or just on the days you use it?

Just on a day when you use it Barry, so if you're a light user it can work out very economical compared to contracts.

I try and limit myself to 4 days a week which makes me get out of the van and exercise Very Happy

Hi Barry,

No need to be excused. It's a fair question, if you don't know the answer.

The £1.00 a day is a maximun amount, and only for the days that you are logged on. You may not even be charged that, if you're usage is less, but if you're usage exceeds the 15Mb per day, you will revert to the higher charge of £2.00 per Mb.

To all the mobile techies out there,

I have just spoken to their sales dept, and they tell me that I will need a "Vodaphone Live Phone" to access the internet using one of their sim cards.
I asked if the sim card could be used in a Vodaphone data card. They said "NO" and then started to ask awkward questions, with regards to my datacard.
I politely thanked them, and did a sharp exit.

Does anyone know any differently please?

Jock.

Edit, Just seen

Hi all

Glad the info was useful. To set up a datacard for pay & go sim, the link below is useful as it lists all of the passwords needed etc. With the voda card you just set up a new profile in the software & edit the information as necessary.
