Found this DC to DC converter/stabiliser which has optional connectors for Apple iBook, Powerbook and G5 laptops (which is rare):

Have just ordered one so I can charge the laptop directly off the 12v socket in the van - will post findings.

Hi Vidura

I understood all breads of Mac portables had the 4 pin magnetic connector.

How did you get round this? Did you cannablise a old mains brick, and use the connector with a Maplins coax socket?

Kind regards

Only the latest ones have the magnetic one, certainly the G3's had the coaxial type (not like a maplins RF coax plug richard)
