hello all,

I have tried without sucsess to find a campsite anywhere near the NEC. Despite starting to look over 6 weeks ago, all I have had is "sorry full".

We finsih work around 5:30 This Friday and would leave Manchester 6pm so the Overnight carpark is out as the barrier will be shut.

This means we shall have to leave around 6am Saturday 20th, spend a day at the show then drive home after a very long day on Saturday night.

Anyone else found anything nearby?
Any other suggestions?

Awaits replies.....

Trev.

Hi, Trev

Why not stay overnight in the car park, and then have a casual drive back on Sunday?

We're getting up early on Saturday, staying Saturday night, and then moving off to Wales on the Sunday.

Hi teemyob

Have you tried Marston Caravan Site telephone number 01675470902.

I was supposed to be staying there from tomorrow till the weekend but have just had to cancel Tuesday and Wednesday nights because of the unexpected. Have spoken to the owners today and I understood they still had a couple of pitches left for the end of the week. Perhaps they have taken now but it is worth a telephone call and you could always ask if they would inform you of a cancellation.

Joyce

Have you tried the CLs and CSs, they are generally less popular especial if there is no electric available?

If you are a CC member try this CL. With electric
Berwyn
Longdon Hill
Wickhamford
Evesham
WR11 7RP
England

Telephone - 01386 442575
or just type in Worcestershire in the Club Site. Takes about 45 mins to get there and is easy run to NEC

If you're a member of the CC there is a rally taking place about 3 miles from the NEC, I think it's at Bickenhill. I booked a place last week. Don't know if there are any spaces left but might be worth a try.

We went today. Waste of time as there was nothing really new that we haven't seen before.
Met a couple who were judging for the best MH at the show for some magazine and they said it was disappointing.
Got stuck on the M42 and eventually took an hour and half to get home which is twice as long as normal.
Next show we go to will be on the continent as we gather the choice is much better.

Not ideally situated for us, though it does have glowing reports!

With regards to how good the show is.......

We went to the Outdoor and Leisure show at the NEC in February and was disappointed with the Motorhome Manufacturer and Dealer turnout. After seeing the VERY poor Manchester Show we were expecting a lot more from it. However, we believe this show is only in its second year?. Lets hope it is as we expect. We are mainly hoping to see some Frankia (s) and buy some accessories.

If all else fails we shall no doubt be spending our money accross the water next Summer. We were in Belgium with the family this year so could not make it.

Heres hoping.

Trev
