...........and on the same theme. (Sorry for the hijacking Stew! )
We use a Vodafone 3g datacard and get either GPRS or 3G depending on what mood the flippin' thing is feeling in!
The other night, it detected 2 local wifi signals but told us that both were encrypted.
That got me thinking! We haven't actually protected ours in any way (least as far as a self confessed luddite like me could tell you!)
So, what / how would I protect my wireless access. How would I ask my laptop if it's already protected?

Hi Zaskar bottom right hand corner of your screen, find the icon that looks like a tv screen, there maybe more than one, if you have the right one when you right click the menu it will have in it "View available wireless networks" left click and it will tell you whether its a "protected" or "open" connection.
To protect an open network you need to access the router and enable passport protection.

Didn't I see, haven't been back, that if you were buy 3 or more it was cheaper and x or more it was cheaper again.
There used to be a web site years ago where you could buy software and the more people who ordered it the price went down for everyone.... it was great, I recall buying an Autoroute xx and it was down to about £32 then as opposed to the shop price of £59...
Just thought if others on here were prompted to buy having seen the link - perhaps you could buy together...and get them cheaper...

I see what you mean, yes if you buy 3 then they do £2 off so in this instance probably not worth it. For some reason the price quoted is not the price you pay. Including delivery it came to £57.
