Hi Hymer Friends,
Easy solution, buy a Sky Digi Box On-Line (I bought Pace Javelin 12v) Apply to Sky for a 'Second user Card' (This is the card you get when you move into a property with sky system installed )
Chose you Sky package, no phone line necessary and take it where you wish.
The best on-line info I have found is at http://www.satcure.co.uk/
dispells all the myths. They will give you all the info on a 'Loft Box' this will split the signal to various rooms, The site is run by very well informed nice people. Travel Safe, Mac

Lets face it- If Sky want to take up the issue with you about the phone line - simply threaten to withdraw your monthly payments. Thats all that matters to them. They will try there best to keep you. Agree?

sky do take action. they say the reason for this is that the subsidy that you get, if you don't pay full price, is not wholly sudsidised by sky. a marketing company, it will probably turn out to be another murdoch company, contribute to each subsidy.

their motive is said to be that if the tel line is connected you are more likely to use the interactive services - betting, games, shopping etc.

i haven't been able to find out if sky supply them with information on your use of the interactive services.

the next letter after the one i received gives a date when service will be withdrawn. the only people i have met who have received one reconnected the phone line. they told me the letter says sky will take action to recover the monthly payments up to the 12 months in the agreement.

anyone pushed sky past that letter Question

Hi Marcos

If you are under a new contract that insists you are connected to Phone for year (on some multisystems permenantly) then If you break that agreement, they have the right to cut you off and still get paid for rest of contractual period.

Now if you are on a single system they do not follow this up (much) if you have a second set at reduced price they will follow up and insist you pay full price for second system (if either is not permenantly connected to phone line)

This is to stop One family member having full sky package and then all other family in area having a second and third set top with full package for only £10 each.

Marcos try booking a second set top for £10 and taking them off phone line, you will soon see what we mean.

George
