Many expensive rear light clusters are cheaply fitted, mine in fact collect a little water and mold during the year. To save yourself a lot of grief, once a year remove the holding screws, vaseline them and put them back in. At the same time, if necessary, clean the lens and contacts. You will save yourself a lot of trouble in the long run, bulbs do not last for ever and in some countries if you cannot change a blown bulb on the spot there are hefty fines.
