For a few days now a pop-up screen has taken over when I'm trying to read the super arguments and advice on the forum.

It's a green rectangle appearing underneath the text where '31 days in a campervan' is usually advertised. This appears out of nowhere, and then expands to fill the screen with an advert for a finance company. I can't close it down as it just comes back Evil or Very Mad , the only way to lose it is to close MHF down and log in again.

Has this happened to anyone else, I run Firefox with pop-ups blocked. I don't get pop-ups anywhere else so wondered if it is associated in any way with this site

Hi Steptoe

Nothing to do with MHF. Nuke doesn't use popups, and I hate the things.

Sounds like you have a bit of malware (annoying spyware type stuff) on your computer. Are you running a spyware detector / blocker? I use Ewido, which has become part of AVG. Download from

Have you installed AdblockPlus as a Ff extension? That kills them stone dead.

Dougie.

I had a similar problem the other day.

I think I was looking at a post to do with insurance and I must have inadvertently clicked one of those annoying 'ads by google' links that appear near the top of the page with commercial links related to the subject matter.
It too was a green box about insurance, might have been the same one and it wouldn't go away, even if you clicked on the big red X - it kept coming back Evil or Very Mad .
I logged out of MHF, cleared my cookies and not had it since Smile .

Thanks Pete, it sounds if you experienced the same problem that I have. Will do as suggested and clear cookies.

Dave, I've already got Firefox pop-up blocker, that why I was puzzled and wondered if it was a site feature like the ads that relate to text in posts.

Thanks to all who responded.
