Hi all,

Thanks for the comment's, it was worth a try I thought.

If maybe one or two of our overseas visitors saw it, it would be worth all the effort.

Hi all,

thanks very much!

Being German and living in The Netherlands I can confirm that at least these two are correct.

"sounds like some mollusc used in medicine": Pusser, it is really nice to have you back again... Laughing Laughing Laughing

A very nice idea, Rob. A belated "Happy New Year" to you, too.

[quote:dc02a4ccfe]Rob says:-

'Good manners will open doors that the best education cannot.'

I find that handles usually work quite well.[/quote:dc02a4ccfe]

And a couple more -
"Maners maketh man"
"Courtesy begets courtesy"

Gentleness and affability tend to be old fashioned concepts nowadays in this aggressive society - a shame. Recall the original meaning of "Gentleman/Gentlewoman"

Good for you, Rob & Docted - long live good manners!

Barry

Quite agree Barry. My mum used to get remarkable service wherever she went simply down to the fact that she approached everyone with a smile, and thought about how she asked for things,it was an eyeopener shopping with her, assistants would change their manner if they looked a bit down and would do that little bit extra for her.

Sow and ye will reap, or words to that affect Wink

Brezcraft, thanks for the Irish translation.

Barry, thanks for the kind comments.

Helen, having spent a lot of time on that side of the counter, I can assure you, that your mum had it right,

Barry & Sue, are we sure Sue is still there we never see her sign off on these threads, never mind may your Christmas wishes come true in the New Year and may your motorhome never sit idle while you are fit to use it.
