Well the New year is upon us and thinking of the summer already. We have a new motorhome with a built in gas regulator, currently have two propane bottles but we know in the summer when in France we will either be using camping gaz or a French gas. Our question is, with the fitted regulator are we going to have to make up pigtails to fit all the types of gas we use or have you time served motorhomers got some secret device you all use and will your share the secret.

I think you will find that you will need to change your "pigtail" each time you swop the propane / butane cylinder, much less hassle than changing the regulator. Not sure about the "Camping Gaz" though, hopefully someone with knowledge of that particular information will help out, I would suggest that Gaz should only be a last resort, as they are small cylinders and bloody expensive. Pig tails for the relevant country are readily available in accessory shops when abroad.
Have you considered a re-fillable cylinder?
Hope you both enjoy your new van and your travels will be sunny and pleasurable.
John.

Go along to your nearest caravan/motorcaravan dealer and buy all your pigtails there, you will find Gaslow do all the pigtails and also a coversion fitting for the Gaz bottle to pigtail and believe me they are much cheaper here than in France as i have recently found to my cost. Have a look here.
