HAPPY NEW YEAR
We've just got back from our New Years Break
Great time had by all.
We took along our bbq and the first time we used it
it the flame started spitting,
I know a dirty jet can make this happen but this is brand
new bbq (cadac) and i thought they would be fine,
but we bought a bottle of propane from a local industrial est
and was wondering if it could be dirty gas or if there is such a
thing.

Thanks Chris

I assume by 'spitting', you mean flares of bright yellow flame ?

Just to narrow the field somewhat......had the bottle been laid on it's side or at an angle before use ?

Is the bottle regulator known to be fully functioning ?

I'm not quite sure what your definition of spitting is, or even if this will be of any help, if your Cadac is one of the Global range I understand they are prone to blowing out or spurts of flame if the wind is in the appropiate direction, to overcome the problem cut both ends out of a bean tin (or similar) and place over the main tube to prevent the wind blowing directly into the gas venturi ( hole in main tube just above the three legs)

Heard of this before,...check to see if there is any (burnt) insect remains within the tube(s) leading to the burner jets!

If as suggested you know the regulator to be ok, its most likely be a bit of dirst/swarf in the burners if its brand new
