Been given some plugins for cs3 and put them in the plugins folder. How do you use these? Can't find any help in the "dummies" book. maybe says something about me?
A bit more info...
I have the plugins on a folder on external hard drive. I have ticked this folder in preferences/plugins. I have also copied them to the plugins folder in CS3 itself. When I click on help/plugins they are all there but I can't find a way to use them. grrrrrr
BTW under the "filters" tab I only get the standard photoshop filters. |

In Elements they don't show until the programme is loaded 'whilst you press the shift key'.

Hi Stew, ther are far too many to mention but I can't even find a way to use the ones that came with the program.
I loaded them by going to edit/preferences/plugins then pointed it to the folder I have them stored in.
As still no joy I opened explorer/photoshop/plugins and copied them into this folder.
some examples:- Alien skins, Curvemeister, on one genuine fractals etc |

Hi Ken
Its ages since I loaded any but there are sub folders in the plug folder, did you load them into the right one. I seem to remember a plug in loader although it was a few years back.
I also wonder whether the plug ins you have are compatable with cs3 or in fact whether you are using apple rather than pc

Hi, the only sub folders in my CS3 plugins are the individual plug ins that come with the program. Apple rather than PC is a possibility but that doesn't explain why I can't get the original ones to work? |

Hi Ken
If you are running CS3 on an Apple Mac there are some major issues with running plug ins, especially with the new Leopard software see
