Hi

I saw this in the freezer at ASDA Harrogate today.

Bonnaffee pie - £3.

Then, large red sticker and advertising banner stating

"rollback" lower prices etc

The bonnaffee pie was now on sale at £2.99.

I did not know whether to bulk buy taking into account the massive reduction.

Russell

Hi Russell if you like wine at all Asda have an offer on those wee bottles of wine. If you buy one they give you a voucher for £2 off a bigger bottle. The wee bottles are usually £1.50 but they have them reduced to £1. Think this means you really get the wee bottle free and get £1 off a normal bottle!!!

PS You really should bulk buy you would save yourself a fortune!! Hiccup!!

Hi

I thought you were being a traitor to your usual shop when I saw the title Russell but all was clear when I read the post.

Probably a response to the fines they have all just paid out for price fixing.

Although the fines amounted to millions I think they paid them out of the first 30 seconds profit they made on Sunday morning Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

Hi Stew

I am being a traitor but it is unavoidable. There is not a TESCO near Harrogate and the word TESCO gets frowned upon by the locals.

Nearest one is at Thirsk or Leeds.

I do pay using my Tesco credit card though.

Companies often do this when a product line is coming to an end. So in the case above the 99p price is the nornal price and 97p could mean that the product is discontinued. 98p could mean just out of stock.

They do this so that if you go into a shop and quote a price from the web to the sales people they can immediately give you a reason for there being no stock without having to through their systems.
