Hi all,

Decision made - we're definitely going - but where do I buy the race and campsite tickets from? Not looking for Ferry tickets - that's the easy part.

And which campsite is best for MHs? We don't need a hookup, but water within hosepipe distance of the MH would be great.

Advice welcomed from anybody who has been before.

Anybody else going this year?

Ciao

Raymond

Wouldn'y miss it. Can't say about M/H site as I go with a bunch of bikers ('creaky knee club') gord only knows what state the van would come back in !

This is a well recognised site for Le Mans fans.

Don't bother with any of the camp sites.

So long as things are the same as last year...

If you follow signs for the green car parks there is a tarmac car park reserved for motorhomes that you pay for as you arrive only problem is that there ain't any water available. This park is about 400 yds from Tetre Rouge where you can pay for entry to the circuit. We had a plot half the size of a football pitch with a hard surface - just the thing if it's wet as the campsites there get filthy muddy in the rain. Come to think of it - we didn't understand the French and ended up not actually paying for the camping just the parking.

Have a good event

Hi, great race & great atmosphere, most camp sites are fully booked from one year to the next. Tickets to the actual circuit are available at the track & cover the whole circuit, buses go from the main entrance to other parts of the track (its 8 miles round) & are free. A good web site with good links is Maisonblanche.co.uk.

My thanks to all of you for the input.

Because this is our first time at Le Mans, I decided to book a 'package'

We used Travel Destinations Limited (refered in a earlier post) who seem to be able to match customer aspiration with reality.

We travel Portsmouth/Caen on the Tuesday before the race and camp at Karting Nord.

I go motor racing with my mate Steve (we've 'done' the BGP for the last 12 years together). My wife is joining us after the race in Limoges (Ryanair Liverpool /Limoges - £27.97 inc. taxes - great price). Steve is taking the return flight home.

We are spending a couple of weeks in France after Le Mans, home for 2 days, then off to Silverstone for the BGP (with Steve, naturally).

Life's hard, but hey, somebody has to do it.

Ciao
