What do fulltimers do for work?

I've got enough money to keep me going for a year.

I earn a little bit of money online and I want to work a little bit while I'm touring europe then when I return to the UK I was thinking about working with a free pitch on holiday camps.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi

There are lots of jobs overseas - but can be low paid.

On a campsite, you will probably work for nothing in return for a pitch. After a certain number of hours per week, you will be paid - cash in hand.

McDonalds - might not be your ideal cup of tea - but there are branches Europe wide and you will easily pick up the local language

Travel industry - airport repping in hard work but well paid.

Teaching English - boring and hard work - but 15 euros per hour.

Employment is also widely available with firms such as KEYCAMP but they provide accommodation overseas in a caravan. No doubt you could liase with the site owner though - give him the caravan back to rent out in return for a pitch etc. Failiung that park your motorhome next to their accomm!

Local pubs/bars/restaurants - language not usually an issue as menus are muli lingual!

The list is endless.

Russell

Hiya Rightz, read "our travels" on www.ukmotorhomefinder.co.uk

we have had work since packing up two years ago, we are too young to retire and did not have silver spoons in our mouths at birth, so we have to work, but now we work at our pace and our choice of location.
We are fitter and healthier and have no regrets. The summer work allows us to winter in the sunshine, off next week to Portugal until feb.

any questions, drop us an email.

steersy and Elaine.

Hi Stearsy

Sounds like a great life - congratulations.

Any problems at all that you would like to share with us?

Is the office work easy in a confined space?

Do people look at you differently when doing business with them because of your lifestyle?

thinking of going back to work and am curious you see. We live on the rental income of our house plus a small private pension at the moment.

Pat

thanks for all the suggestions - and steersy I might just take you up and send you an email!

We too have to work. Have been working hard and saving for 3 years to buy a 16 year old motorhome and have enough cash to survive on for a year (with £6k of non touchable savings as well).

We hope to work some of the year anyway so each year we can save a little bit and up grade. We have no problem finding seasonal work in the UK but have looking through www.anyworkanywhere.com and emailed a few people. We already work in the areas of work I enquired about but no emails back - either that or the camps couldn't guarentee place for a motorhome!

Thanks for your site steersy. I will be looking it over for tips Wink

Any problems at all that you would like to share with us?

We have not had any problems really, a breakdown in the working relationship with the fulltime wardens at Buxton, but other than that, touch wood, nothing. After seeing a sister die of breast cancer, how serious can a problem at work be, puts things into perspective.

Is the office work easy in a confined space?

The office work on a campsite is usually the ladies domain we have found, other couples may vary, mans stuff is outside. I like4 being outdoors so i do not stay in any office too long. And being fulltimers we are used to sharing a confined space.

Do people look at you differently when doing business with them because of your lifestyle?

Some people think you have never had a serious job or responsibilty before, and if they seem to be looking down their nose, i just smile, but when people hear of what we have done to change our lifestyle they are a bit envious. And i think in a few years time there will be so many people trying to do this, the jobs will be few and far between.
