Hello all,

We will be docking in Bergen on 28th/29th of December. I am looking to book the

tour from Voss.

1)I can either stay docked on the boat until 5am 29th
2)Leave the ship 11:30pm 28th and find MH parking in Bergen
3)Leave the ship 11:30pm and drive to Voss to find MH parking

I prefer option 3 and would need to know more about where I can park near to the bus stop in Voss.

If anyone can help?

Dunno about parking but there is a lakeside camp site

within very easy walking distance of the town centre.

See you going in December. Voss is a Ski centre and I think you could find it very busy.

We stayed at Camping Voss when we went but that is some years ago now. Afraid I cannot remember if there was other decent parking and I daresay things have changed since 1996!!

Assuming the bus goes from the tourist office in Voss (I'm pretty sure it does) there is parking there. It is ticket parking from a machine. When I parked there I was unsure exactly what the notice said so I went into the tourist office and they explained it for me. I guess an email to the tourist office in Voss would answer your question.

BTW we stayed overnight a km or so to the west on the E16 at a public car park with a bobil dump. We stayed next to the kiosk having asked permission.

Thanks Pete, Rita & Frank.

Yes we are staying a few day in Voss to do the nutshell tour and some skiing.

I had seen the Camping Voss on the web. It does state easy walking distance, though when I calculated it on viamichelin it says an hours walk.

The situation I am in is that we leave the ship on 28 or 29th and I have to book the tour for the 29th (the last know available booking date) before we leave. They are not publishing any tour dates for January until January.

So as I will have very little time from leaving the ship and of course the camping voss will possibly not be open. I need really to find somewhere to park up for the day on the day in the morning! before 9am.

Thanks for the email link Frank, what size vehicle did you park in the parking area?

Trev.

Hello all,

Frank, I have had an extremely helpful and detailed reply from your email link. Something that could save me a lot of trouble and money.

Whilst I am on can anyone remeber the name of the motorway rest area in Bergen?

Trev.

Do you mean motorway?? There is a motorhome parking area in Bergen, I assume it is open all year. It is only 1/4 mile from where the ferry docks.
Think I posted this on the campsite database if you do a search but if you turn left as you come out of the docks you will not miss it and maybe that should be your first stop?

Thanks again for the all the info.

Frank, that email you gave me has put me in-tocuh with an extremely helpful person. The information I have gained is invaluable, especially with regard to overnight parking areas.
