Help me out here if you can....

A few years ago, I remember a company that sold a glass fibre panel that would replace the unusual 3 piece rear door arrangement of old BT transit vans into one moulded panel with a proper caravan type door to make a good basis for a self build motorhome.

I'm just wondering if anyone actually converted one using this panel and if anyone has any information or photo's of one?

I can't find anything about the makers of the panel, all I can find on T'internet is a few shots of the actual BT vans, the first showing the unusual rear door arrangement...

This is not for any specific reason, just out of curiosity as I would have thought it would have the makings of a great selfbuild motorhome....

I originally wanted to convert one of these into a motorhome but decided that not only was there too little internal space but the process of converting was far too difficult without specific knowledge of electrics / gas etc, although I guess it could have been completed to a lower spec but without the comforts we expect in a modern van.
There was a company in Shropshire selling these bodies for £250 each but I never pursued the project so cannot really comment on what a final finish would be like

Hi peejay I converted my ambulance (see avatar)we took the back doors off and framed it out then covered with alloy sheet,then made the bumper etc,Do not be put off by vics comment (I guess it could have been completed to a lower spec but without the comforts we expect in a modern van. ) I would put my van up against any manufactures van for comfort and build quality.The only thing I could not do was the curvy furitue / doors but then again most m/h makers buy these in (kit form) from Italy so I suspose I could have done the same.We got the curves on the walls etc but settled on flat doors.I have go full size cooker 100ltr fridge,blown air heating hot water and toilet /shower that actually drains,clean & waste tanks and loads of cupboards,a lot more than any maufactuers that I have seen.

edit I know somone who knows somone who makes luton tops and rear extensions for these vans try Phoneing Rodger at knolbeck caravan storage derwent rd -Brampton nr barnsley,tell him terry the pain in the arse told you.He may help to point in the right dirction also a good sorce for windows/roof vents etc very cheap

My fault, I should have made it a bit clearer, I've no interest in building one myself, I just don't have the required skills.
I was just wondering if the company that made the rear panel still exists and if anyone has actually converted one using it.
