I don't suppose there are too many people who were wondering where I was, but for the one or two who might, I'm still alive, (no-one more relieved than me!)

I have been having a problem with my net access. I can log onto MHF on PC at home, but when I click to go into the forums I get a blank page with a 'done' icon on the bottom left of my screen. I have tried to get into the forums through other ways thinking I could fool the computer, but no go. I also could not access my PM box. Now the same thing is happening with my hotmail account, can get so far but not actually into my Inbox. Have no other problems with other websites. Since the only two things I do on the net is Hotmail and MHF, I have been frustrated beyond belief. I have also tried on G's laptop using the same connection (satellite BB) with no success.

I am now in my local library and voila! no problems at all. Don't know what this means.
Not being able to get into forums meant that I couldn''t tell anybody about this. BTW G has had no problems with his sites. (Don't know what he visits much!!)

Probably won't be able to get back in again when I get home but it has sort of cured my addiction to MHF a bit (Cold turkey I admit!)

Speaking of turkeys cold or otherwise I hope all you guys and gals have a great Christmas and am thinking of any of you that will struggle at this time due to loss or illness.

Ca x

Since my ISP "upgraded" their connection speed I have been unable to access a couple of sites and all I get is the system "hanging" and then the usual Internet Acces Unavailable response (fortunately MHF isnt one of the problem sites Wink )

However wwhen I stick my newy acquired "3" USB Dongle thingy in, (therefore by-passing the Router) have no problems whatsoever with any site.

So- has your ISP done any work on your connections? Do you have wifi and could it be a Router settings Problem?

That's as far as I can go with help but just a suggestion- no doubt some experts will chip in.

Hi

I had a similar problem on Sunday. I could access everything except my own website. I cleared cookies, cleared personal data, flushed the dns and in the end the culprit was the router. As soon as I switched it off, left it for a couple of minutes and then switched it on again all was sorted

I would start with a router back up (if it supports this) then a reset back to factory if a simple reset does not work.

Then its onto the laptop for a DNS flush as detailed above. If that does not solve it let us know

Any time that I had problems of a similar nature it was usually tracable to Firewall setting, Privacy settings, Anti Virus settings, or Secutity settings etc being set too tightly.

For example at moment when I am browsing with Firefox (my usual browser) I cannot access hotmail. However if I use Internet explorer or Opera no problem.

Smile

The problem is (and I spoke to Ca today) is that she can't see your responses. (unless she gets to a library) I can't help much not having a PC.

So what I will do is copy the above responses on to an email for her.

Hi Frank,

I had exactly this issue the other day, page was slow loading when it did load it was blank and said done Wink

Most other sites were okay, although speaking with Gaspode I found another site was very, very slow, Maplins! Gaspodes isp is the same Orange.

I checked with the admin and other staff and found I was the only one having this problem, it turned out to be a isp issue I believe as I left it a day and it cleared, Orange have had problems like this in past, only certain web-sites get affected.

I notice CA says satellite BB? Not sure who her supplier is, but an email to them telling them of the problem should help cure the problem.

Give my best regards to CA and tell we are missing her and to hurry back Smile

MHS...Rob Very Happy
