Nothing to do with your post but just to say hi and hope you are well. Am in the library on limited time. Looking forward to catching up with you sometime when all our BB issues are solved. In the meantime will check in every now and again.
Hugs to Charlie.

Thanks for reminding me of that! I've downloaded the "both clubs" file and unzipped it to "My Documents" on my PC. Which folder do I put it it in AR 2007??? Does it matter? Where do I go from here please (sorry for highjacking thread!")
I have a folder just called Auto-route Maps which contain not only the maps produced by John Harrison at jolly interesting but also LPG location maps, French campsite maps.
I find that you can open an map made with an 'old' version of Auto-route but NOT visa versa.

Agree with what Dave says, I wanted to stay overnight at a very convenient "Adults only" CL, I phoned a told them that I would have my well behaved (with me anyway) 8 yr old grandson, would it be possible for one night.
No problem came the reply, the owner even gave us a lift to the pub.
So it's always worth ringing or emailing especially in the quiet season

Sadly I think all C&CC and CC sites welcome dogs and children but not model aircraft or model boats in the fishing ponds.
Can't understand how they arrive at some of their decisions.
As a general rule the site ameniability and flexibility is dependant upon the wardens but I don't think I have ever been to one without a dogwalk.
Think I am of the subject now

If Somerset and part of Dorset is typical it looks like most CSs don't accept dogs, unlike CLs where very few ban them. Or based on the fact that the CCC web site is rubbish, as this morning it said there wasn't a single club site or CS open at the moment, and this afternoon said there were quite a lot, maybe the information on dogs is inaccurate too. I'll just save paying them Ģ33 to join and find a CL further away from where I'm going!

I think we are communicating on a par with ships passing in the night
On what basis do you believe "most CSs don't accept dogs"? The CCC website/ database says nothing about this. Conversely, SOME entries explicitly say they welcome dogs.

My understands of CCC smaller sites was that dogs are welcome unless otherwise stated.
The dog symbol when shown indicates the site is particularly good for dogs - eg - walks nearby etc etc.

On the list of sites there are icons for "dogs welcome" and "dog walk", and you can search for sites where dogs are welcome. In the area I was searching the majority of CSs don't show that dogs are welcome in the site listing. The web site is too slow for me to go into the details of each site to see if the description says anything about dogs, so I have to assume that they don't.

As Russell indicates, the default is that dogs ARE permitted. If you are not prepared to check the site details via the internet, and you are not prepared to phone, then I suppose you either risk it, or assume dogs are not permitted.
The latter rather strikes me as cutting off your nose, etc., but your call.
