As they are probably shut this time of night, I can not just ring Safegard and ask, but will tomorrow, in the meantime...

When we set up out insurance for the Tempo, we told them we had no access to any other car/van.

We had intended to sell the car, but now we may well keep it.

Anyone know the likely outcome, we have the MH with Safegard her indoors and me.

We have a seperate insurance for both of us on the (£100 value) car.

Will either insurance company care?

Hrmm, quite an odd outcome, they are not bothered about us having a car as well, but unless we get rid of it, they can not protect the NCD.

They are still giving the NCD, just not protecting it.

I am gonna see if Jackie cancels the car insurance, and I insure it with her as a named driver, that will get around the problem.

you would think theyd prefer you to have a car as well as you would use the motorhome less!

I think the only issue is that you inform them of the change in the previous declaration. Second-guessing insurance companies is not a sport to be recommended.

Got to the bottom of this, they basically can not protect the NCD if you keep the car because there is no NCD to protect, although they are giving us 60% off, it is called "mirroring" the car NCD

We can get around it by changing ownership and insurer on the car, but I think we will leave things as they are.
