Silly question

Assuming we go for a trip of a couple of months, under what poilicy do we get cover for "items"? e.g. bikes, laptops, electronics, clothes etc.

I believe bikes and electronic bits are excluded from the MH policy

Can I just add these to a home policy (items away from home?)

Can I get a travel insurance policy and add "personal items" cover?

The MH policy will be renewed before the trip so easy enough to change

Thoughts welcome!

Only the insurance companies can give you the answer on this. however i dont think your household insurance will cover for those items abroad.so check with them first.they will have to be listed as extra items on the motorhome policy I expect.choose who gives the best cover.
No matter who you chose, if you have a claim you will have to declare it on any renewal.

Your question is a bit like, "How long is a piece of string" It depends on the policies. My household policy does cover me for those items when away from home up to a set limit. Check your home policy and if it doesn't either get them added, you usually can, or shop around for a travel policy which will cover you. The clubs travel policies usually cover this kind of thing and no doubt so do others.
