We are about to set off on our annual pilgramage south to sunny Spain. Recently we noticed that as a BT Broadband (Option 3 User), that if one registers as a member of FON through BT, one shares 512K of broadband to any FON user locally through BT Openzone. In effect you become an authorised Hotspot.
In return one can use any FON site abroad with unlimited access to the internet and email. BTFON.COM has a website showing all these locations. It also (at bottom of the page) shows international sites, and "in theory" one can download these to TOMTOM. So far so good. So in theory one tells TOMTOM to find nearest Hotspot and off you go.
The only problem we are encountering is that the download tool does not seem to work and returns a file of zero bytes. Has anybody been successful in creating download files?
Thanks in advance
Guy

If anybody is interested, just got a reply back from FON on the downloading POI to TOM TOM question. They advised that the download is giving problems with Internet Explorer and suggested using Firefox to download. Just tried it and it works.
