Hi
I have just purchased a 3G USB Modem so I can use my laptop on mobile broadband on PAYG. Question is I have Orange landline broadband connected to my laptop which will be operational until late February. Can I install my 3G USB Modem after disconnecting the landline Modem or will I have to uninstall the Orange broadband completely first. Any advice appreciated.

I don't think you will need to uninstall anything, the USB modem will just appear as a different connection, and you can use one or the other (but I wouldn't try both)
I have several internet connections on mine, 3 dial up's, a USB modem for a mobile (although mine is GPRS not G3) as well as my main broadband connection, which can be wired or wireless. All works fine!

I have talktalk broadband and when out and about just plug in my 3 usb modem and if there is a signal then I can just click connect and I'm up & away so to speak.
Must say it is no good in Great Torrington as it is only GPRS and that is too slow and when clicking on IE nothing comes up on the page, although 3 says I'm connected. Likewise at Brean nr Burnham on Sea.
Hi Wotsit, you should have no problems, just install the software which came with the modem and as has already been said here it will show up as a different connection.
Just a comment, if this is your first mobile connection you may not be aware that you'll need to change your outgoing SMTP server to the modem provider's, otherwise you'll not be able to send emails via Outlook etc.
