Last year we had an Autotrail Tracker with the SE pack which included a flip down TV and with a CD/DVD head unit fitted in the dash. This system allowed the TV & DVD sound to be played through the cabin sound system
IT WAS FABULOUS
We sold the Tracker and bought a Rapido 7065+ which didn't come with the same system and required a separate TV mounted in an extendable/reversible cradle located in its own cupboard
Please be aware that none of the 12V LCD TVs I've looked at are fitted with an audio out facility so one is stuck with its sound amplifying system Crying or Very sad , which may be OK but is not as good as playing it through the cabin system
However the 7065+ is precabled with the yellow video cable and the Red/White audio cables which run from the back of the dash into the TV cupboard and the rear wardrobe
SO I had a thought Idea
I have a SKY box that does have audio output, so I've connected it to the TV with a Scart cable and connected the audio output the Red/White precabled socket in the TV cupboard to arrive behind the dashboard
So far so good but the so called top of the range Pioneer DEH-2900MH head unit (£58 retail!) does not play DVDs and will not accept audio in. I have had to buy an alternative head unit JVC KD-7302 (£168 from On-Line Car Audio UK) which not only plays DVDs by connecting it to the pre-installed yellow video cable and then at the other end to the TV, but also allows audio input. I can now feed the Red/Whire audio input by connecting them to the head unit's line input connector and get the TV and the DVD sound amplified using the MH speakers
Quadrophenia here we come
Am I mad to think it will work or is there anyone out there that has done it Question

Our 12v Tv has an earphone out socket, I plugged in one of those FM transmitter units which transfers the sound to the Van radio, I now have sound out of 4 speakers, great. Cost about £20
