Since the site went t*ts up the other night, I'm having to shuffle the lower screen toggle bar left and right to read a post in flat mode, never had to do it before, it's really annoying Evil or Very Mad

How do I get it back to how it was?,..no trouble viewing pages on other websites, what's going on?

Dave Confused

Dave

It has also been happening to me for a few months.
I remember the same thing happening about Feb/March last year. Steve (A Wild Wild Camper) corrected something in my signature and it righted it. Can't remember what it was though. Sad

I've looked through the tools and guides, FAQ's board rules and profiles!

Hi Dave, I was getting the same problem yesterday but it seems to have corrected itself today. I think it is sometimes caused by having an extra long URL link in a post that extends across more than a page width and IE tries to expand the page to cope.

A lot depends on the resolution you have the display set to. and text size.
If you are set at 1024x768 or higher you shouldnt have any problems, but this site doesnt go well with 800 x 600 as full use is made of the page width. Dont think its anything to do with site problems, new side index may have had some impact, it hasnt here though

Hi Dodger, I always have my resolution set to 1024 x 768 but as I said I was getting the problem yesterday, it showed itself as a very large plain yellow gap between the left hand column and the main 'post a reply' area. Which seemed to be just a little wider than usual and quite a bit of the text was off the page and I had to use the left/right scroll to bring it all into view. On the couple of times previously that it occurred the posts area was very much wider than usual, on each occasion it has corrected itself after a day or so.

Hi Phil, I was getting exactly the same problem yesterday. Today all seems back to normal. IMHO I think it was down to all the rebuilding/extra RAM and restoring of the site after the s****y hackers. The wider screen issue I think your right about the extra long URL's as when this occurs to me and I switch to another posting, the posting window returns to its normal width. Jeffus. Cool

I have it all the time.
The window required is larger than screen width and means the 'slider' bar under the posts has about 1cm to movement to pull the RH edge of the posts in.
That loses me 1 cm on the left but not detrimental just a nuisance. Sad

Hi Gillian, I'm not sure if this will help but check Tools - Internet Options - Advanced and see if 'Enable Automatic Image Resizing' is checked.
Failing that, if your resolution is 1024 x 768 or better and your refresh is set to 75 or 85Hz, you may need to check if there is a later driver for your Graphics Card from the manufacturer, new drivers come out quite often for most cards.
Phil.
ps A simpler answer might be that you need to press the page 'Maximise' button in the top right hand corner of the page. That causes the effect that you describe.
