I need a top tip for best, smallest, electric heater that will turn itself on automatically when reaching just above freezing tempreatures. The one I use at the moment is ridiculously big. I think I remember seeing some very small black square ones that were cat....something.

Grateful for a clue.

Yes that is the one I was thinking of and many thanks for that. Of course, I now know the name but don't know what it does. Par for the course for me. Very Happy

Hi I use a Delonghi Bambino. Its available as 500 or 800 watts, not very big and has the frost protection setting that you want.
I bought mine on Ebay new for about £25 last October.

Many thanks. I am on the case. The big one I have comes from the same stable.

"Hi I use a Delonghi Bambino."

Ditto, 800W. Oil filled. Not sure whether that's what you wanted, Puss, or fan heater.

I use it for frost protection (saves me draining hot water cylinder and pipes) and overnight silent heating when we're in it on cold winter nights.

I paid £13 for a tiny micromart in focus DIY 1.5kw ceramic fan heater, its blumin great, warms the home up really quickly aswell, we used it over the christmas break in Cornwall. it has automatic cut off and is about as big as a small shoebox.
highly recomended.
Let me know if you want one and you cant get hold, they had plenty here in Derby

Wilkinsons are doing a 600w oil filled radiator for £10.99. I've seen exactly the same radiator in Focus at £24.99.

Might be worth a look..

Hi Zoe68,

Is the fan heater very noisy? We are contemplating a portable heater but we don't like noisy fan heaters but they are small and convenient.

Regards,
