hello, just thought id tell you all about my solar experiment! i had an 80 watt on my van already and bought a 130 watt kyocera two weeks ago at a boot sale near benidorm which i fitted and hinged on the roof rack. since then i have only used the hookup for fridge only and my 2x 110 a/hour leisure batterys for everything else, tv,lights etc. i am getting 8.5 amps just after sunrise (one propped up and one flat panel) an hour after sunset the resting voltage stays at 13volts and drops to maybe 12.1 at the end of the evening after cooking dinner, fans and lights and 5-6 hours of telly. the site we are on gives you 4 kw electricity per day so what we are saving by running off the panels we use to heat the van electrically in the morning saving our gas a little. this is only an experiment to see how independant we could be if we wanted and i am quite impressed with the results. we have had good weather so i'll post again with cloudy results which i know will be completely different. sorry this is so longwinded but im sure a few of you will find it interesting, all the best seanoo

Yes its a good rule of thumb in a 12V system have as many watts of solar pv panel as you have Amp hrs in your battery(ies). So in this case 210W and 220Ahr.
More battery (cheaper) and it will take too long to charge. More panel will waste energy when the battery is fully charged.

hi djchapple, we get 4 free kw per day and as you have to pay every 30 days thats 120 free per month. if you have gone over 120 you pay 30 euro cents per kw. you have a meter on each pitch so you can monitor your usage. as a point of interest with fridge ,tv and lights we come in about 3 kw per day.

In that case seanoo its actually giving you 4kWh per day free. Which can be 1kW for 4 hrs or about 170W for 24hrs or anything in between.
You won't be the first on here to trip up over the difference between kW and kWh, which is the difference between power and energy, so I wouldn't worry about it
