Could anyone please tell me which is the best Aires Book for France. I have been looking on Outdoor Bits and don't know which one to buy.

I dont think there is a best one as they all have good point and bad points.

The camperstop [MHF Link] book is good as it has most aires and a picture of a lot as well. It also shows service areas (which most aires have anyway) and gives info of the locailty such as markets etc.

There are other options to a book. if you know where you are off to look on one of the many web sites that list aires such as AireCampingcar.com. With this site you can see what its like from the ariel photo facility.
If you use a sat nav the locations given in aires books are not spot on.

You can get a cd from some sites as well if you have a laptop in the van.

There a lots of Aires guides , you can puchase local guides in france lots of camping shops/ caravan dealers. . But this is the main one by
French camping car magazine, called Aires de services camping cars. you can buy from Amazon or direct from www motor presse fr.
they Are in French but easy to read. when in an area in france best place to find out where to stop is the tourist office. they have cartes* of all the Aires in the Area *maps you are visiting , good luck

Hi.

We used All the Aires France book by Vicarious books. We used this book last Oct/Nov When we did our first trip throuhg france. We used 14 of the aires listed and found the GPS locations to be very good.
