I bought one of these TV's which is DVD,CD 12v & 240v and built in freeview. We have never been able to get freeview in a caravan or motorhome despite being able to get it at home. Then I thought maybe we could get it at home because we have sky. So I tried it at my mothers house where she does not have sky but does have a TV with built in freeview. I plugged into her ariel and got a message saying "no signal" however clearly there was a signal because when I plugged her TV in we could get freeview perfectly.

Anyone got any ideas? Is it just faulty.

Sad

I suspect this has got something to do with your settings.

Check which country it is set up for.

Hopefully somebody more able to explain exactly how you do this will pick up on this thread.

I sent my TV back twice because this setting was wrong Embarassed

Is it searching for for programmes when you first plug it in if not I would take it back as there is probably something wrong with it, or you could try the manual search for programmes, it usually takes about 3 minutes an stores about 80 programmes.

Some sets keep settings and work ok. Others you have to tune in every time.
Look through the manual and set it up as stated as if it is a new connection. hard to give specific instructions when there are so many different.

Shocked This is a common problem. Switch on the TV . On hand control there will be a button which is either SOURCE or TV/DVB. If SOURCE press it until the screen shows DVB then press menu and go to first installation (this will need doing as you travel about the UK to pick up the nearest transmitter) If TV/DVB press once and then repaet the action for source.
Have you read the instruction manual which normally has a quickstart guide? Wink

Not wanting to state the obvious but Sky and DVB-T are completely different systems.
Have you done a channel scan? You wouldn't believe the amount of stuff we've had returned as faulty which turned out to be operator error Laughing
If you could give us a make and model I'm someone would be able to offer some more useful advice.

Regards
Doug

But surely all the DVB-T channels are available through Sky. That is what fooled me, that it would work at home but no where else. Anyway thanks to all the posts I have now read the manual and think the problem is solved and am getting a vague signal. We are in a really poor reception area and I can't even get terrestrial properly on the motorhome status antenna and as I say if I bring it indoors it works anyway. Back to mothers to test it I guess. Embarassed

BTW it is a Mobile TV MTV20DVD

We get this "error message" from time to time. The freeview box in the van can only hold a limited amount of "memory" That is holding and remembering stations it has found previously. Say location 1. If we move to another area, say location 2. Then the stations from location 1, which are stored in the box are not suitable for Lcation 2. What we then have to do is a master reset on the box. Reset country etc. THEN do another search. We then find everything works ok, until we move on to Location 3 then we have to do it all over again. This assumes all locations are not in the some "local" area of course. i.e. not from the same TV transmitter.
Give that a try.
Master reset and new search. Wink
