Hello

Starting March 3rd for about 15 weeks. Road works chaos along A20 into Dover will add a good 30 minutes to your journey. We will have to sort a route to enter Dover from the A2 Think thats the right road number. Drops down that steep hill to the round about by the docks straight into the docks. When the roundabouts are being done they say those roundabouts will be closed and diversions will be in operation

See here:-http://www.highways.gov.uk/roads/projects/17611.aspx

Strangely enough I prefer simply dropping down the steep hill (A2) to the roundabout immediately outside the ferry terminal.

You only need to have competed with queueing lorries, buses and cars stretching along the front and the roundabouts once in your life to avoid it for the rest of your life.

Apart from that you get a good view of the docks and a "Yippee ... I can see the sea ... there's the ferry ... we're off on our holiday" feel when you start to descend the steep hill for your ferry.

But it does look as though it will be bad for both routes now for the 15 weeks.

Thanks for the info.

Those using the A2 will contribute even more to the noise I hear from my house which is within view of that road. By using the A2 you will be passing a 24 hour Tescos stores with a very large car park in and out of Dover that could be useful.

I should have my MHF sticker by Monday so will be expecting waves from you!

Not so sure about Tesco's. Much better to sponsor a MHF member.

What is your parking like and do you offer wake up calls and free coffee ?

At the present time I have building work going on since the 10th September 2007! Told it would be "six weeks"! Builders-what can you say about them?!?!

I have a skip permanently on my drive but if any MHF member is in trouble I can accommodate a small MC overnight -would really wind up my neighbour opposite who complained at the planning application meeting that we have "a very expensive mobile home" parked on the property! He was told it was nothing to do with the planning application. I have a 27' Fourwinds Siesta parked behind a very large security gate that is out of sight of that particular neighbour, the top of which can only be seen above the gate by the new neighbours opposite.

As for the coffee, well I expect my visitors to bring me tea in bed! Not much to ask is it?!?!
