I'm toying with the idea of spending two weeks in Norway this year, June seems to be the best month as it has the longest daylight hours.
I read last year on the forum that some one has already done the same journey that I intend to do but I cannot find it using search.
Does anybody have any advise on how easy/hard this trip is likely to be, thanks in advance.
Keith

We went to just south of Tromso last year in our Knaus - 3 week trip.
Main roads can be quite narrow in places - especially in tunnels of which there are hundreds! ( longest one was 19 miles I think!!) Plenty of HGV's on the roads - they don't slow down for oncoming wide vehicles like motorhomes!!!
Tunnels can be long and dark and windy!
Ferries across fjords common and expensive if vehicle over 6 metres.
Take your own food and booze as expensive in Norway e.g. beer £5 a pint and cheapest wine in supermarket was about £15 a bottle!!!!
Don't eat out - pub meal in Bergen = 2 main courses + 2 pints beer = £45 - eeek!! 4 small portions chips and 4 bottles coke in Polar Zoo = £20
Campsites good standard and reasonable.
Grey water and chemical disposable available in some garages (if working!) but not necessarily on camp sites - Look for motorhome dump signs on roads.
Locals friendly and nearly all speak English - let them know you are British and not a German speaking ENglish and they will love you!
Scenery fantastic around fjords ( Lom and Flam and Sognefjord and Oksendal)
Up in the Arctic Circle very much like Lake District / Scotland / Derbyshire.
We found temperatures very warm when it wasn't raining!
Our riddle of the holiday was:- " If you're in Norway and it isn't raining where are you?" ANSWER :- In a tunnel!!!!
Enjoy yourselves but leave enough time to see where you want to without rushing - it's not a rushing country and 3 weeks wasn't long enough to do the miles and spend 3 nights with friends and 4 nights with family as we did!
Total trip cost us (including ferry) £2,000 and that was with staying with friends and family for a total of 7 nights!!
If you have any more questions just ask or send us a pm. Don't let what we've said put you off - just be aware!

If you are intending sailing from Newcastle, I would investigate soon. We tried to book at about this time of year a couple of years ago, and couldn't get a crossing. Booked earlier this year - going late June for six weeks. Looking froward to seeing Scandinavia in the summer - we've been in the winter for the last six years.

We went in June last year on the C&CC Escorted Tour, weather for 95% of the three weeks was clear blue sky and warm. It was a wonderful trip.
If the itinery is what you want I would recommend it as good value. See the Club web site. Note the included meals and trips, all of which were very good. One downside, for us anyway, was the site in Alesund which was in a good location but had a smelly ditch running through it.
If you want to do more, as some of those on our tour did, you can tailor you ferries to you needs.
All the best
