I just squirt a bit of 3 in 1 oil at them - works fine, also on the retractable step that gets clogged up with dirt from the road.

I have used a can of spray grease available from Halfords, it appears that once the propellent has evaporated it leaves a thicker deposit than other oils and 3 in 1 type things.

Hi Hymerhobo

The same as Jabber, Spray grease for the same reason, I use ROCOL or any wire rope spray grease, also chain lube spray from any bike shop, have used this from 1965, used on all locks, hinges, etc, and never had a lock or hinge fail on me,

Hope I have not opened my big mouth to soon
All the best and good luck Exclamation
