Shaun, you are aware that you have a satellite receiver there and not a terrestrial tv freeview box?

Having a sub-forum entitled Freeview & Freesat wasn't one of nuke's smartest moves. Most are confused over the differences and wacking them together hardly helps!

OK, to wrap up my input on the incorrect sub-forum - Oh, I've gotta go off at a tangent here - not long ago, I joined a musician's forum for no better reason that I was noodling about and some inexperienced guitarists were asking questions which I could answer. I had the temerity to reply to a question which had been posted in the wrong sub-sub-sub-forum. So, ten minutes after the 'congratulations' on joining the world's biggest online musicians' community, I then received a stern ticking off from one of the mods. If I had the time, I'd like to go back there and cause mayhem by posting a guitar query in the trumpet forum!

Anyway, I took Gerry's advice and found yet another Scart to phono adaptor - this one features the full 21 pins and an in/out switch. Lo and behold, I connected this to my satellite receiver, then into the A/V on my scartless telly and bingo! Thanks, Gerry.

What pleases me the most is that I've spent a mere fifty quid on a 9.2" telly, plus another fifty quid off eBay for the receiver (plus the other portable satellite bits which came with it), so for £100 (which my wife and daughter have just paid to have their hair done) I have satellite TV in the van.

After taking down some of the cable ducting I found the other end of the multifunction plug hidden in the ceiling. I was able to use an old Freeview Box I had with Scart output and via adapters to the Phono input. Happily the Freeview Box ran off 12V.

Problem solved, many thanks all

Thanks everyone I took the ducting down and found the ends of the multi connector tucked away under the roof.

With the help of various adapters from Maplins I've connected an old Freeview box Scart output to the TV. The freeview adapter works off 12V so problem solved
