i have a minibus that i plan to convert into a motor home
the inside will be much like an old vw bus with the units being removable if requied so the bus can be used as a van now my problem is that if the units are not permanatly fixed then can i insure it ???
this is all i can find and says nothing about removable interior \/ \/
A fully converted motorhome or campervan must have all of the following permanently built in:

A built in bed
A wardrobe
Cooking facilities
A seating/dining area
Housing for water storage
so do i just insure it as a van carrying camping equipment or a minibus with no seats or i dont know Smile

Doesn't work that way here. A realignment of expectations may avoid future disappointment.

Some insurance companies might want an engineers report on the conversion. When I did my conversion I was able to insure it as a motorcaravan and given 3 months to complete the conversion. Could you convert it in such a way that it can be used for van use as well? You might find this website useful--www.sbmcc.co.uk

Hi . I have just kept my insurance as a multipurpose van with CIS, and they say its ok to have a fitted bed, but not a fitted hob,( this would be a mod and would need to be classed as Campervan, which would not suit my needs, like you I want to be able to use van for other purposes.Regards. Bill
