Apart from money, that is! My list reads as follows but it seems awfully short!

Motorhome Insurance
Personal insurance
Driving licence & glasses
My bank's phone number to activate the telegraphic transfer

Well I shouldn't need to remind you that you'll need your passport should I?

Apart from the obvious, last time we imported we took a duvet, 2 pillows a hook-up lead and a travel kettle with 2 mugs in a suitcase. Makes life a lot more comfortable when stopping over on the way home. A trip to the nearest Lidl or Aldi will take care of food and drink for the journey but without the means to make a hot drink you'll not be happy.

Thanks, Gaspode. You're right about the passport - if I don't have it I won't even get there! I'm taking a pot and couple of bowls and mugs, some tea/coffee and a couple of picnic glasses to toast the new acquisition. A sleeping bag and cushion (if I can fit that in).

We have just imported from Germany, Flew and drive back.
We packed a sleeping bag and 2 pillows plus towels into a vacuum bag (one each), sucked the air out with a Dyson and both fitted into a large suitcase very easily. Only worry was if customs asked to open the bag at the airport.

We also took basic tea/coffee, cutlery, cockery etc basic stuff.
Maps, dictionary and corkscrew.
We bought a kettle in Dortmund, a full cylinder of gas and filled up with water.
You will love it.
