First time with a camper in June for Euro 2008, picking up in Munich, and driving to Salzburg onto Klagenfurt, then Innsburck before getting back to Munich. A 7 day holiday in all.
Now my idea of a camper van is having the flexibility to park anywhere (well supermarket carparks, outskirts of towns etc etc) and enjoying everything the city has to offer before heading back to sleep at night. Is this realistic in Austria or is it advisable to head for a campsite and get public transport into the city centres? If so, can anyone recommend sites in and around the 3 cities?
Been wanting to do this for years and dont really know what to expect - any help greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome.
I don't know anything about wild camping in Austria but can recommend Camping Kasern on the outskirts of Salzburg. Regular convenient bus service stops outside and there are shops available locally. It's easy to find from the motorway and clean, friendly and simple.
