Yes, don't knock McDonalds until you've tried a Sausage and egg McMuffin

I love 'em

also useful to know in France and Spain. we have parked in their car parks and used their wi-fi's without purchasing their crap Laughing

How any French person ever allowed such "crap" to become established in France amazes and worries me. MuckDonalds are at the forefront of the Americanisation of the world, undermining and collapsing indigenous cultures wherever we non-Americans are sufficiently gullible to allow them to do that.

In 1968 we were realising that the Vietnam war was a very, very, very bad thing. Forty years later and still so many other nasty, bullying American-induced wars around the world have been allowed to start. Even so, no-one need look beyond the war in Iraq to see that very little, if anything, is good about Americanisation. Every time we don't effectively protest, we allow.

This huge issue runs along with MuckDonalds' introduction and promotion of foods based on farmed meat and the related monoculture of plant foods (for animal feed) into parts of the world where once meat was a minor part of human diets, but its introduction and expectations now have a detrimental effect on lifestyles, cultures and land use. And we should not ignore that. And surely we should not support it.

How close might one need to park to a MuckDonalds in order to pick up their Wifi? I'll be the van driver with the ski mask and muddiest number plates.

hi

this is the 3rd mc wifi experience in France, and you have to sit in!
my laptop maybe at fault, as it's a macbook pro with built in wifi 54mps card, perhaps a 108mps would extend the range and therefore allow you to surf in the car park.??

I can say you can get upto 2mb speed, and full service, like ftp etc I'm going to investigate skype next.

update

5th (different) mcwifi experience
The last 2 have blocked FTP and SMTP facilities.

For those of you more technically minded, this means sending email out using outlook etc (SMTP) and uploading files to websites (FTP).

Web browsing and web browser email (IMAP)... like aol, google mail etc seem to be ok

Hi

It does not matter the quality of their food, they rank with Disney when it comes to marketing. I will buy anyone a Bigmac if they can find a McDonalds that does not make money for its owner Very Happy

We go in about once a month - Jessica likes the baby meals and we have deli wrap - very nice. Our son works in The Canterbury branch and has lost loads of weight he works so hard keeping up with the demand.

This free internet is superb, many thanks Maccydonaald Laughing Laughing

The MacDonalds in Barnsley town centre closed down a while back ! Not sure if it has since re opened!

I do not know who managed the site. I think most - if not all - are franchised.

The WiFi is excellent and vecoming more wide spread. I do like some of their coffees. (PS - usually free too - that's another story).

WiFi is becoming available overseas too in their restaurants.
