I noticed last weekend that my Skycard was requesting a subscription for channel 4 & 5.
These channel have always been free apart from my initial payment of £25 a few years ago.
I have just telephoned sky to query this and they say because I have upgraded/re set my Skybox it will have taken these channels off.
The only way to get them back is to pay £25 again and "give a different name and address".
They also said it was illegal to receive sky on a motorhome! but would pretend they didn't hear me say that I was.
(BEWARE All those of you out there watching TV in your MH's. Turn the volume down and listen for the sirens coming up the road!)
I have now just made a call using the telephone number on the card and they apologised for the loss of the channels and would send the code to my card immediately.
Would not be doing all this if the weather was better

Had you changed your sky decoder?
We had a similar experience when we used the motorhome for the first time this year. We definitely haven't changed our digibox. I rang the number on the back of the card who said it was caused by the digibox being left off. Well, it would be wouldn't it, it's in my motorhome and the batteries would go flat if I left it on! All we had to do was leave the dish aligned and the box on and it updated overnight and we had the channels back again.

Regards
Doug

Hi Doug

Just checked a few minutes ago, the system and it has now been updated and we can get channels 4&5 again.
All equipment unchanged but I did do a reset some time ago. They said that would cause the problem or if the equipment had been unplugged. As you say, we have no choice in doing that.

How sad, Ben Hur again, channel 5
