Hi all, planning our first trip in MH to France first 2 weeks July, landing in Roscoff ,then down through Brittany and Vendee to get to Dordogne for a week or so on one site,I know France very well from living there a few years back but didn't spend much time In Dordogne.. getting to my point!! we have 3 small kids,3,2 and1 and are looking for any recommendations on good sites ,possibly around Sarlut, next to a beach on the river would be great, pool, etc, I'd much rather be on a smallish site and within walking/biking distance of shops.... any tips or suggestions of any kind would be great, thanks kindly,Rossco Smile

Camping la paradise

We stayed there years ago, still owned by the same Dutch family.

Lovely place on a gentle river with safe canoing.

Hello asabrush,

I stayed at Camping les Granges a few years back-its very near to a little village called Grolejac which is about 10 miles from Sarlat. The site was of medium size with a great pool complex, restaurant, take-away etc etc. The river Dordogne was only a mile or so away with access to a number of little beaches and also canoe hire for the obligatory trip down the river. All in all it was a perfect site for a family holiday!!!! Now the but! Its one of those sites often referred to on this forum as "all singing, all dancing", which means that it aint cheap. However, IMHO its well worth the money if you and the kids have a great time. We are off to the Dordogne this summer and have booked here:-

It does look good doesnt it? We have booked with solleil d'oc just up the road nearer to Argentat. We made the booking on their secure booking page and it was dead easy. I have found them extremely easy and polite to deal with so we are looking forward to July!!!!! The only downside so far is forking out £525 for Brittany Ferries. Why oh why did I do it?
