Hi,

We're off to the Outer Hebrides in May. Driving up from Leamington Spa and looking to stop for one night on the way to Oban for the Ferry. Thought about somewhere around Ayr/Kilmarnock. Does anyone have any suggestions (pub/wild camp)?

Cheers
Griff

There is a car park right on the beach, with toilet facilities, at Girvan - looking straight across to Arran - about 20 miles south of Ayr....it is on the outskirts of the town so only a short walk to the pubs/restaurants etc..... cannot recommend any as I havent tried them myself. This is a spot regularly used for overnight parking by MH. Have a good trip.

We did almost the same trip and stayed at The Quiet Site (they accept camping cheques) in Ullswater
It is about 5-10 minutes off the M6 just south of Carlisle and has a pub! and all facilities
