My new Voyager was supplied with a cracked windscreen. The crack is only about an inch long at the rear of the rear view mirror. I found the crack when driving away from the dealer.

No issues with it being replaced, but was thinking around the scuttle issue and the sealant that has been used to seal it to the windscreen.

Has anyone else had to have their Fiat X250 front windscreen replaced? If so did it cause any issues, I would be interested to hear. I know I should get it seen to sooner than later but I just don't have the time to get it back to the dealer.

Thanks,

Stewart

hi stewart,
Is that a Le Voyager french made motorhome you have ? if so these screens cost £1000 and when fitted in france byt he factory they carry a 10 year water ingress warrenty. some friends screen cracked while in morrocco thet had it replaced on the way through france by Safeguard.

Some one on here has had a new style fiat x250 screen replaced but this wasnt resealed as this is a grey area with fiat, but ours is sealed by ourselves with ska flex and no probs.

Hi Stewart

We have had our new Motorhome windsceen replaced via Auto Trail.

The guys who replaced it for Auto trail damaged the scuttle, it was a complete mess.

Brownhills then took it on board and replaced the scuttle and resealed it all, made quite a good job.

Please be aware its a mine field you are entering, the screen installer will not take responsibility for resealing the scuttle.

Hope this helps
Best Regards
Broom

No - I'm sure this is the New Swift Voyager with Fiat Cab windscreen.

This was raised some time ago when the Water Ingress problem was first being discussed - Would windscreen repair companies know that the scuttle has to be re sealed?

This is why I have only ever held the belief that our FiART scuttle re-seals are only a temporary bodge for now.I would like a complete new system that is not going to cause aggro in the future.
So many people seem to be happy with the thing just stuck to the windscreen Shocked sort of,if it dont leak, the jobs a good`n . Shocked

HI Folks,

Thanks for the replies. I should have been more acurate in my initial post. The vehicle is a Swift Voyager.

The van was delivered with a cracked windscreen. It was not picked up on the PDI and I only noticed it a few hours after collection. It looks like someone has hit the rear view mirror causing a stress crack behind it.

I have delayed getting it repaired, at the back of my mind I know it will lead to further scuttle issues. Hence me putting it off. I know the crack will only get worse. But I have had so many problems with motorhomes over the last 7 months I can't be bothered any more.

The handover of this replacement was far from stress free either but that's an other story!

The vehicle is an 08 and came with the scuttle already bonded to the screen and the engine cover fitted.

If it's not one thing with these new Fiats it's something else. I'm taking it back to the dealer for a new screen to be fitted in a few weeks prior to the National Show.

I will post a report on how things have gone and we can all have a look at the show.

Stewart
