After I put a new R&R bed in the T4 van, I find the rear seat belts, one is a lap just that bit too tight. The bed is further forward. I would like to replace them, but find the info on web sites very confusing and don't want to buy off them.

I am thinking of going to my nearest VW dealer and getting them to do it all, but before that, any thoughts, ideas, experiences?

It isn't a main dealer, therefore not as expensive. They are Independant and all ex main dealers in the area.

The bed is not a true &R either, but that doen's matter.

Hi Hampshire

I'd get the dealer to do it and keep the receipt.

Not that you couldn't do it yourself, but with insurance companies looking for any loophole to avoid paying out (allegedly!) I think I wouldn't take the chance.

Just my opinion of course.

Hi Hampshireman,

When I worked in a Car Accessory shop about 10 years ago, we used to keep a small range of seat belts. They were never a big seller so they may not even be kept any longer, but it would be worth asking your local shops or even motor factors if they have what you require. The lap belt may not be a problem depending on the length you require but the fitting on the inertia reel belts may cause more of a problem.
