We recently bought a 1989 Hymer 554 and the previous owner had no idea where the key for the water tank refill cap was. Does anyone have any suggestions where we might be able to get one?

Many thanks.

The small key that fits all the doors and lockers, also fits the FW cap on our '93 model

Thanks for the post, we tried that one so I guess the lock must be seized.

On our last van - B584 - we had 2 keys - both identical looking. This was a 2000 model.

One opened all the doors & lockers, and 1 that only opened the FW cap. So I marked this with some white paint.

Sorry to cast some doubt on the proceedings.

Have you tried some WD40 or similar on the actual lock, leave for a while to see if this will help ease the lock. If still no joy, looks like a call to a locksmith and an investment in another FW Cap & key.

Thanks for the tip. We have a selection of keys, only one fits the FW cap, but wont budge it.

Any ideas on where we can get a FW cap from?

Cheers.

Dr Van

Not too sure where you live, but if not wishing to use Brownhills/ Hymer UK, you could try people like :-

Deepcar Motorhomes :-

Or Hambilton Engineering:-

Hope this helps.
