Please excuse my ignorance but I am having a blonde week and struggling to find this information out for myself. Embarassed
We are currently in South France, but want to store our motorhome for 1yr whilst we travel around Australia. We understand that it's better for your motorhome to be stored under cover in warmer climates.
Can anyone recommend a good storage facility for motorhomes in Europe?
Also does anyone know of any legal implications of storage of motorhomes outside UK and then returning them to UK afterwards?
Or has anyone got any ideas of a better option for the year whilst away? (apart from selling our gorgeous van!)
We have already looked into shipping the van to Oz from UK but this takes 3 months and is around 4k for our sized van each way. (ouch)
Does anyone know about shipping vans to Australia from France or other countries that are closer to Australia?
Please help me, my husband has given up and handed this challenge over to me (as he has run out of hair to pull out!) Rolling Eyes
Pauline

I live just a few minute from where I keep mine at a site in Rochester Kent, you could keep it there and I would keep an eye on it for you. The site storage is about £400, and no cost for me. The site is secure with someone there 24h.

Thanks Diabalo, sorry for the slow response I have been too busy out enjoying myself. Very Happy That's very kind of you to offer to keep an eye on our van. We may take you up on that. Do you know, is the £400 for covered storage, if not do they have covered storage availabe there?
Is it the one near the Medway bridge?

No, sorry they don't do covered storage. To be honest I am not sure why you need covered and it would be very expensive I would have thought.

I agree... maybe you'd be better off buying a pro-tec cover for it whilst in outside storage. Could also flog the cover when you are back from Oz and take the van out of storage again.

If inside storage is a must, and the UK is a possibility, then try Westfields Limited in Salisbury. An ex-MOD site with aircraft hanger storage. Not cheap though.

Regards,
Steve

Thank you all for your replies. We are now checking out the different options you have given us. We had thought covered storage would have been better for the van compared to the lovely weather we have in England.
Will keep you posted.
