I have a Murvi Mallard. I would like to buy a Kyham Classic Awning but, how do I fit it to the Murvi? I do not want to put any fittings on to the side as I will be having a Fiamma slide out next year and knowing sod's law the fitting will be where the box will go!
At 3mtrs square will it be too wide for my vehicle (Ducato 11).
I see, by the roof rack mounting rail along the roof, there are 3 small 'T' shape fittings could I fasten the Awning there, some how.
One distributer suggested I throw guy wires of the top of the 'van and peg down the other side but this seems a bit Heath Robinson to me. But what do I know? I have only had the 'van for 3 months.

Any suggestions will be gratefully received.

We first threw guys oveer the roof & pegged down at the other side, but the guys flapped against the van side in strong winds

I used to work next to a chap on the market who for years had secured his maket sheets over the top of his van and used some plastic hooks that fixed to the skirt round the bottom of his van

Any way we fixed a roof rack along the length of our roof (Renault Master LWB).
So now we use webbing straps sewn onto the flap, with Quick release buckles. The fixed end is on a short bit of webbing sewn to the flap.
The other part is on a longer strap so the can be adjusted to allow for the space between van & awning.
We put the webbing roung the lower roof rack bar for bad weather, While the upper bar gives ventilation in hot weather

Thanks for the reply Pete. I will see if I can get a roof rack from Halfords. They sell the racks in bits and the feet are all I would need rather than cough up £100+ for the whole thing!

Try a ladder rack Sid you would require two rails front & back. May come cheaper

However think about the van roof - ours is a van conversion with metal roof & ready prepared mounting holes
