We are just about to buy a motor home.
Could somebody explain the situation regarding the emmision charge in London in relation to motorhomes?

Danny Zoe

If you are buying new then you are OK for a few 3-4 years, there are no exemptions for older vehicles either or residents within the zone, as far as I recall MH's are being treated as a commercial vehicle, if you do a search on here there was a few posts which were more informative as regards age of vehicles etc, whether it is Euro 3/4 compliant

As an ongoing check whilst looking you can enter the reg. number of a MH and it will tell you the situation regarding that particular vehicle.
Sorry I haven't got the link...no doubt it will appear Smile

If you can you might think of a EURO 4 standard. As I understand the situation is that there is no plan to include these in the emission zone charge.
It would be not more than about 3 years old however.
Some of the earlier ones are effectively impossible to have converted to the required standard.

if anyone is interested mine is a 2.0 fiat JTD from about 2005 and is not subject to any charges according to their website.

However I trust Ken Livingnewt about as far as I can throw him with a chubb safe tied around his neck
