I have just looked at hi speed access and o2 are doing £20/mth 18mth contract but with no cost for exceeeding the 3gb limit until October. Their normal charge for excess is only 20p / gb which seems very reasonable. Is anyone else using this? They also give free unlimited access to their wi-Fi network where available.

For those who expect to exceed the 3gb it's a very good deal. Howeveer the "Three" contracts are cheaper if (like me) you never/rarely do as much as 1gb

I have had a little look into this...

The 20p "extra" is per each MB (megabyte) over quota.

The literature reads as though the offer is only available to existing O2 customers. That may, however be just my interpretation.

THREE is £15 for 3GB per month - and half that price if you are a THREE mobile user.

I think though all of this competition can only be good for us - the end customer.

3gb is a lot but beware. March last year I did 6 gigs in a month. There are 1024megs in a gig so 3072megs over allowance if I had been with O2 so a fifth of 3072 = over £600

In Auchan on way home on Monday, they have their own USB dongle for €99.90 which includes €25 use

The way I read it is:

Outlay of 99.9 Euros
which gives a connection which lasts 45 days.
During that 45 days you can be online for 5 hrs max with a 50mb max useage per day. (not a lot?)

After the 45 days you can have the Add ons as shown which last for 10 to 90 days at the prices shown. Not much useage though-10 to 200 mb per day.

Not cheap for someone in France for 3 weeks a year say. (Unless you can sell on the dongle??)
